Conversation With Dwayne Betts | Feb 11, 2016

Co-presidents Sascha Murillo and Jeremiah Cross recently had the pleasure of moderating a conversation with current Yale Law student Reginald Dwayne Betts about his new memoir, A Question of Freedom, chronicling his experience being convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to 9 years in prison, and his subsequent journey from prison to Yale Law. The talk was co-sponsored by the SNMA/LMSA and the medical school's Humanities in Medicine series, and planned by our own political action chair, Nientara Anderson. Read about it in the Yale Daily News here!

HPREP | January to March, 2016

HPREP, SNMA/LMSA's Saturday pipeline program for high school students interested in the healthcare professions, got off to a great start and has been getting tremendous feedback from its students! They have covered concepts as wide ranging as preventive medicine, neuroscience, bioethics, health disparities, and a day in the life of a medical student. With the end of the program quickly approaching, we will be awarding 4 of our top performers with college scholarships.
